How do we create deeper connections?
As Christmas nears, we often set aside time to connect with friends and family, which helps strengthen our relationships. The challenge is getting to know them better without overwhelming them with too many questions. How can we create a relaxed atmosphere that encourages sharing in a natural way?
Playing group games is a fun way to bond and laugh together. One game I love has strengthened my friendships over the years. All you need are some pencils or pens, a bowl, and writing paper.
One person, let’s say 'Jill', leaves the room while another thinks of a question like "What is Jill's favourite band and why?" Everyone writes their answers on paper and puts them in the bowl. When Jill returns, the question is read aloud, and she guesses who provided each answer while someone tracks her correct guesses. The funnier the answers, the better, as long as they are positive.
Then everyone takes turns until all have had their chance to guess,
the winner being the one with the most correct answers.
Examples of questions include: As a little girl, what did Jill want to be when she grew up & why? Or, if Jill were a famous character, who would she be and why?
Not only does this provide amusement, it also encourages those who are guessing to open up more about themselves.
Have fun whilst strengthening bonds!
